Amazon.com: FAIL and you ???

This morning I started off my little routine like every day, grab a cup of tea, read my e-mail, read a few news articles when I see "Amazon.com: FAIL and you" article. I read through a couple of the blogs and just started laughing...

As an Ex-Amazonian, I am extreamly familiar with that companies culture and that I worked in thier IT department for over 5 years -

I can assuredly say that this company is not biased in any way against sexual choice. This company is the most liberal company I have ever worked for. Probably 35% or more of this company lives alternative life styles... Thier corporate offices are in downtown Seattle for gosh sakes.. Ever been to Seattle?? If you had, You'd know how obsurd the comments are about Amazon being biased against any life choices.

As far as the code push bobo. Mistakes happen get over it. They do have an extensive check in system but that company doesn’t have a few lines of code – they have millions - Somebody probably did a change on the side to fix something and didn’t go through their change process system. I am sure they are either missing half of their butt this morning or are packing boxes…

They will learn from this and if thier is a flaw in the way they are catloging some of thier products - they will fix it or refine it.

It's easy to point fingers and critique how you think technology or code is handled from the outside. But until you are on the inside and understand the "complexity of beast" for any company, you are being a little short sighted and ignorant.

p.s. No I am not drinking the cool-aid and I dont' get any revenue (stock options) from them. I definitly know the companies faults and short commings but none of them apply here... Plus there's still a little thing called "NDA" that I am sure not going to violate :P
